I’m Rob from the UK who moved to Taiwan in 2017 to leave the chaos of Brexit behind me and take up a new life in Taiwan with my Taiwanese girlfriend Sylvia.

Taiwan is a place I call my new home and a city I love and believe has so much to offer.

Having lived in Taipei for over two years, I’ve experienced many aspects of Taiwanese culture. My girlfriend and I have visited many places and tried numerous different restaurants and bars, both Taiwanese and Western. I thought I would share our experiences and create a website to show you what we consider the best places and events to visit.

We are passionate about many things in life, and love experiencing new cultures and food, visiting beautiful places, going to live events such as music, theatre or sport, or simply sitting down with a good film or drink.

Aimed at both people paying a quick visit to the city, and people who wish to spend longer here or have moved here, Taipei Traveller was born in an attempt to give you a complete guide to the city.

Being a software engineer by trade, I decided to use my skills to create the most informative website I could, choosing only the places I deem worthy enough to include in this site.

Each posting here we have personally visited (many a number of times), and try to use as many of our own pictures, while sharing the experiences we had and offering tips to help you during your stay.

While sites likes TripAdvisor exist to give a similar service, I feel it’s sometimes impossible to separate the wheat from the chaff, with many reviews clouding the reality of what the place is really like.

This guide offers a more complete look at the city, and adds suggested places and tips when visiting attractions, something which other sites don’t offer.

I’ve built this as something I wished was available when I moved here.

I hope you find it useful!
