There are some fantastic art exhibitions held annually in Taipei featuring modern art and design from local and international talent that will blow you away.
Taipei DangDai
Taipei DangDai is an annual art exhibition held at the Nangang Exhibition Centre every year in January.
Making full use of the huge exhibition space available, there are hundreds of pieces of modern art and sculptures from local, Asian and international artists.
If you prefer art of a stranger nature, this show shouldn’t be missed. The sculptures especially show a wild imagination, and are crafted with exceptional quality.

Ticket prices for 2020 not confirmed, but prices last year were between NT$600 and NT$800.

Art Taipei
Art Taipei is an annual art exhibition held at the Taipei World Trade Centre every year in October.
Making use of the huge exhibition hall 1 space, there are hundreds paintings, sculptures and other more abstract pieces designed to provoke or intrigue.
For only NT$350 entry, it’s fantastic value for such a huge collection of great artwork.
Dates
October each year.
2019 dates are 18th – 21th October

19th/20th: 11:00-19:00
21st 11:00-18:00
Friday and Monday are the quietest days.

Taipei Illustration Fair
Hosted during December in the Tobacco Factory at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, the Taipei Illustration Fair comprises of professional, amateur and artists who have recently graduated.
Mainly from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan, there are over 100 stands, with the artists at hand should you want to ask them questions or purchase some of their work.
Many of the artists here will even draw or paint you for a small fee, and the artwork on display here far exceeded my expectations.
It’s a fantastic place to spend a few hours and admire or talk to the talented artists.
