One of the more established western bars in Taipei, The Brass Monkey is a popular destination for American ex-pats and tourists.

It’s one of the best venues to watch live sport, with a projector in the back room and numerous TVs, and show a very wide range of sports including:
- Premier & Champions League Football
- F1 and Moto GP
- Boxing and UFC
- NBA & AFL

The Brass Monkey also has a good selection of draft lagers and real ales, and have a couple of great happy hour deals.
From 11:00 – 20:00 each day, you can get draft lagers, beers, bottles and spirits from around NT$100. They also have a new Monkey Hour between 17:00 and 18:00, where many of these are reduced to NT$90 including house wines.
Brass Monkey serve largely portioned western dishes that are some of the best in Taipei. I’ve not had better pies or Fish & Chips anywhere else in Taipei. This is the smaller sized version which is plenty for me but they have a large portion too.
If you’re visiting over the Christmas period, this is the place to come for a great meal. Turkey, stuffing, mash, veg, sausages, gravy and cranberry sauce. Probably the best Christmas meal in Taipei.

The room towards the rear also has a large pool table that’s free to play, and for large sporting events they’ll pull down a screen here for the projector.

Brass Monkey is usually a lively place to enjoy a drink, especially when Taipei plays host to large business events.
