Traditional Desserts at Shaved Ice Huaxi

Based within the Huaxi Night Market, this local shaved ice and fruit smoothie place is one of the oldest of its kind in Taiwan, established in 1920.

Very popular with the locals, it made its name over the years, featuring on many TV shows to help spread the word of its shaved ice desserts.

The menu is only in Chinese, so it’s difficult to identify the many variations of shaved ice available, but we opted for their signature dish, which features a couple of types of beans, taro and glutinous rice and costing only $NT120.

They also offer blended fruit drinks which are equally as nice. If you’re in Huaxi Night Market or indeed Longshan Temple and are in need of some light and delicious refreshment, then look no further!
